Home Improvements Loans

Description: The Rehabilitation Loan Program assists low to moderate income homeowners in financing home improvements that directly affect the safety, habitability, energy efficiency and accessibility of their homes.
 
Eligibility: Single-family homes, duplexes, and manufactured housing taxed as real or personal property are eligible for this program. Applicants must occupy the home (not available to landlords) and assets must not exceed $25,000.
 
Improvements to the livability, accessibility, energy efficiency or addressing lead paint hazards of a home are eligible projects for a loan. Lead paint reduction, electrical wiring, roof replacement, plumbing and septic repairs are some examples of possible qualifying improvements.
 
Loan Amount Available: The maximum loan amount is $15,000. Single-family homes have a zero percent 20-year forgivable loan.  The loans are due on sale or title transfer or if the propery ceases to be the homeowners principal place of residence.
 
Mobile homes taxed as personal property in a park have a 15-year term due on sale and forgiven at the end of the term.
