Description: Apartment building containing 105 units, each has one bedroom. All units are unfurnished. Some units are a standard size at 385 sq. ft. and a few are larger at 457 sq. ft. There are some handicap wheelchair accessible units on site for those who qualify.

Subsidized by HUD (Housing Urban Development, agency of the federal government), Viking Towers must give preference first to the elderly, near elderly (50 years old) and people with a disability as the primary preference list. If that list is used up, people on the non-preference list may qualify.

Details: Building is secured entry and features 24-hour emergency maintenance call service. Contracts for living with services are available if needed and arranged through Vikingland Home Health.

Rent includes heat, electricity, trash pick-up, water and sewer.

Income Qualifications: To qualify for categories of extremely low and very low, income ranges from $11,600 for one person up to $36, 350 for a family of eight. Low income categories (after program admission) range from $30,850 for one person up to $58,200 for a family of eight.
